Can anyone recommend a good software package to plan & log staff timetables?
I'm using a Sasco wall planner but need to be dragged screaming & protesting into the 21st century.

At college we use Celcat - not perfect but you can match staff to rooms to groups, Look at staff timetables, use of rooms.

Ditto, use Celcat. OK but not brilliant. The statistical data on "useage" is useful.

Previously used GTI3 which I preferred. It had a feature which actively prevented double booking of rooms or staff - meaning you have to correct it before progressing. Celcat will let you double book (dangerous) and you then have to remember to press the button that tells you whether's a clash or not. However, Celcat does have useful "search" facility which can recommend suitable available choices to help fill gaps.

As with most databases though, the more complex you want them to be, the more data inputting you need to do before you can start to use them.

College went to Celcat because it was more sophisticated. GTI3 was a less complex (and more reliable?) beast.
